The arc fault detection device combines the function of the second generation AFDD along with the function of a miniature circuit breaker in only one pitch unit (TE) and is therefore the smallest arc fault detection device in the world.

In previous installations, it was always necessary to provide two pitch units per circuit for this solution. The new 5SV6 thus significantly reduces the space required for new installations and enables standard-compliant expansion of existing systems. With the simple replacement of a normal circuit breaker, the protection for existing circuits can be significantly increased.
