The variable frequency drives are equipped with 3 macro-applications; Start/Stop, PID, and Speed, for simple applications. In addition, they offer integrated PID, PID feedback monitoring, PID speed prediction, a simple jog function, Catch on the fly, and 8 preset speeds.

The Altivar Machine ATV320 is the robust variable frequency drive for mechanical engineering

The series of Altivar 320 variable frequency drives is a variable frequency drive developed especially for mechanical engineering, with integrated safety functions and enhanced communication possibilities in various model sizes. It thus fulfils both simple and expanded application requirements for 3-phase synchronous and asynchronous motors from 0.18 kW to 15 kW.

Here, the Altivar ATV320 variable frequency drive gives particular consideration to the progressive digitalisation of production processes, which increasingly render it necessary for various solutions to offer compatibility with hybrid automation systems. Solid construction standards and a host of international certifications thus ensure simple instalation and seamless integration into existing systems. As such, installation costs are lowered and machine performance enhanced, while the lifecycle of a system can also be extended in relation to installation and maintenance.

The Altivar ATV320 is available in two formats: the book format is particularly narrow and can fit into cramped control cabins or machines that are set on an angle, while the compact format features a square design and takes up very little room in different machine layouts. In addition, the robust design of the product is underscored by the IEC 60721-3 Class 3C3-certified coated PCBs. This increases the availability of the system, especially under challenging ambient conditions. Consequently, temperatures of 50°C without a performance reduction (debating) and 60°C with a performance reduction are possible, without the need for additional cooling.

The enhanced connectivity of the system enables smooth integration into a host of the most common Ethernet and serial communication networks, from EtherNet/IP to CANopen. This versatility guarantees seamless integration into existing systems and promotes efficient communication between different components.

The ATV320 Variable Frequency Drive also offers integrated safety functions, including Safe Torque Off (STO) and four other safety monitoring functions (SLS, SS1, SMS, GDL). These features simplify the certification process for machines and support adherence to Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC.
